Sony has unveiled it’s latest offering in professional video surveillance solutions with their new 4K CCTV Box camera.
The special system is utilized that can produce better than average low light reproduction. A spec of .004 lux is quoted and we look forward to seeing this new 12 MP SENSOR in action at the upcoming security expos.
As with any new product development from a top brand, the price tag for this new generation of Alpha video cameras is very high (initial sources say over $7,000) Unfortunately, also very limited for the time being with only a single physical form factor. In the surveillance industry, fewer 
players utilize box cameras for daily installations and have deemed these units “antiquated” due to the housings, lenses and accessories required. We will continue to monitor the new product releases and update when a dome or bullet are available for the solution at prices within reach for general applications.
